The successful Double Fantasy exhibition first held in Liverpool comes to Tokyo on the 80th anniversary of John Lennons birth.Items closely related to Japan are dispayed for the first time in a newly designed section for the Tokyo exhibition.The super rare "Special Interview", which is only available at the Tokyo exhibition venue, is reprinted in analog form, as a beautiful 10" clear vinyl, for the first time in about half a century.
In the interview, among other themes, they talk about John Lennons impressive Kabuki impersonation and their special bond with Japan. In addition there are messages to Japanese fans and stories related to the peace movement that was taking place at that time. It is said that many stories deeply related to Japan such as memories of Japan, haiku, Zen, and Japanese gardens are recorded.

An epoch-making exhibition traced by their own words, works and valuable exhibits!

From October 9, 2020, the 80th anniversary of John Lennons birth, at the Roppongi Museum in Tokyo.

The Tokyo exhibition includes some personal items not shown elsewhere before!

This exhibition is filled with the creative work and memorabilia of one of the most iconic couples in history: John Lennon and Yoko Ono. Though the relationship was cut short by Lennon’s untimely death in 1980, their story lives on in the music and artworks they made together.

The Double Fantasyexhibition wasfirst held in Lennon’s hometown of Liverpool in 2018, where it drew an unprecedented 700,000 visitors throughout its run. The arrival of the private collection in Tokyomarks the 40th anniversary of Lennon’s death and you can expect over 100 items pertaining to art, music and film that the couple created together.Pieces on display will include Lennons and Ono’s signature glasses that are positioned to ‘stare’ at each other, the handwritten lyrics of ‘Imagine’, and even the ‘Apple’ installation from their very first meeting.
