DESCRIPTION
A very scarce work.
Privately printed.
A 1814 reprint of this work, first published in 1600.
The anthology of Tudor poetry compiled by Robert Allott, a famous miscellany which showcases the best examples of the poetical styles of the era.
This work was notable when first published in 1600 as Allott included excerpts of Shakespeares poetry from his plays, namely Romeo and Juliet, Richard II, Richard III, Loves Labors Lost, and Henry IV Part 1.
Other poets included in this anthology are Edmund Spenser, Michael Drayton, Thomas Sackville, and more.
Collated, this volume is bound without pages 185 to 626, presumably having been bound as a multi-volume set by a prior owner.
