The offered artwork is an charcoaland gouache painting depicting a woman walking in alley between the fields in countryside,signed Vincent van Gogh, inscribed Vincent, in the lower left margin of theartwork and Gallery stamped on verso. Vincent van Gogh had great admiration forthe work of the French artist Jean-François Millet, was known as the greatFrench painter of rural life. Like Millet, he wanted to paint peasant life. Vincentvan Gogh's sketched and painted farmers, rural labourers and weavers at everyopportunity he got.
