Potiche en faïence de Delft de forme balustre à décor en camaïeu bleu. Très belle pièce de collection. Le couvercle est sommé d’une prise zoomorphe présentant un oiseau exotique (recollé). Signée sous la base D.PAW donc ce vase a bien été réalisé avant 1759.

La fabrique du Paon (pauw) est créée en 1651 par Claes Jansz Messchert. Il travaille alors avec le contremaître Abraham Gerrits van Noorden pendant six ans. Les produits de la manufacture du Paon étaient réputés. En 1701, le nouveau propriétaire, David Kam, produit des faïences à engobe de couleur très recherchées par les collectionneurs. Delft earthenware vase in baluster shape with blue monochrome decoration. Very nice collectors item. The lid is topped with a zoomorphic grip presenting an exotic bird (reglued). The Peacock Factory (pauw) was created in 1651 by Claes Jansz Messchert. He then worked with foreman Abraham Gerrits van Noorden for six years. The products of the Peacock factory were renowned. In 1701, the new owner, David Kam, produced colored slip earthenware highly sought after by collectors.
